Dieks, "Communication by EPR devices", ''Physics Letters A'' 92 (1982) 271–272.〕 (independently discovered in the same year by William Wootters and Wojciech H. Zurek). In 1989 he proposed a new interpretation of quantum mechanics,〔D. Dieks, "Resolution of the Measurement Problem Through Decoherence of the Quantum State", ''Physics Letters A'' 142 (1989) 439-444.〕 later known as a version of the modal interpretation of quantum mechanics.〔Dennis Dieks and Pieter E.
